Marc Forrest Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 One of me top 3 all time favourites Baz---Hang on ill just sell a kidney Thats the first 45 out of Diamond Jim´s output I fell in love with and up to today its the last record missing in that label run...J¶rg Brenner played it at the last Hip City much to my big enjoyment! Bloody fantastic record....remind me people with which other (Thelma) record does it share the backing track ? At work and can`t remember at the moment.. Marc

Bloody fantastic record....remind me people with which other (Thelma) record does it share the backing track ? At work and can`t remember at the moment.. Marc Joe Matthews "She's My Beauty Queen" (Thelma 104). Two great records but the Joe Matthews shades it for me as it shows off his marvellously flexible voice to great effect, plus the flip of JM, "Is It Worth It All" is even better. Tempos is seriously rare on a WDJ though.
Mark Bicknell Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 Sold a few tunes on and off recently but records like The Tempos I simply can't get rid of, stunning tune, had it for years and have played it when I was DJ'ing over the years, very hard to find on a stock copy but mindblowingly rare on a white demo. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
Rob Moss Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 Just returned from Detroit where I spoke to members of the Tempos at length (article to follow). Sadly, they didn't have copies of their rarer records but they did tell me that 'I'll never forget you' actually wasn't them! It was the Steptones.

Marc Forrest Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 well, its also released under the Steptones isn` t it ? No, it wasn`t I checked at home and it is "Lonely One" that was released by both, Steptones and Tempos... @ Rob: Maybe O`Dell Jones was involved in both groups ? I`ll ask him.
