Hey Soul Sourcers,

Here's something I've NEVER EVER seen! It's Tighten Up on the same catalog number as always but with the Ovide B side "Dog Eat Dog".

Every single copy that I've ever seen of this record has Tighten Up Pt. 2 on the b side. Has anyone ever seen this? This has got to be rare as hell or even deleted!

Would love to know if anyone else has ever run across this 45.

Dog Eat Dog was (I think) the A side on the this, the first press of the Atlantic 45.

After Radio picked up on the flipside "Tighten Up" it was pressed, within a month, under the same Release number as Tighten Up pt 1 & 2.

Most of these, in this configuration, seem to be Promos.

Not impossible, in this original format, but very rare in comparison to the 2-3 million copies the Repress sold!

WOW! Very cool. Thanks for the information on this. Certainly a rare item in this state. Think I'll hang on to it. It's a great track, too!

Thanks Sean!

The Australian demos & issues both had Dog Eat Dog as the flip !!!

And the super rare Aussie EP of Archie Bell & the Drells had Tighten Up Parts 1 & 2 on Side 1 of the EP, the only appearance I suspect anywhere in the world of both parts on one side ...
