Ficklefingers Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 Late 70's - a mate's parents off to Florida on their holidays.. Given a very sort list of artists with the request that - should they get any time and if not an inconvenience and happen to find anything by the artists listed - would they mind 'picking them up'. Needless to say they didn't spend hours trudging through thrift stores, or the like, and come back with two records.. But - 'Hope you don't mind' being their apologetic offering for not bringing back crate's full of vinyl - it was the SAME record (two copies).. Willie Hutch 'Love Runs Out' (Dunhill) 'ISSUES' !! And this at a time when it wasn't even realised it got issued !! REEEEEEEEEEEEEEESULT, or what !! Fast forward to 2007 - Bidds 'niter - Bought one of them back - for a lot more than the £200 it was sold for 30 years previous, though !! Fingers

Guest Mrs M Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 The records I have always regretted selling are tunes which I could never afford to buy again to rebound back to me... More annoying are the ones I sold to mates who promised to give me first refusal on buying back again if they sold on but then went on to suffer from a convenient memory loss.........
Guest Revilot1957 Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 I bought a copy of Azie Mortimer - You can't take it away (In an Okeh purple paper sleeve). In the record bar at The Casino, circa '76/'77. I wrote my name on the sleeve, seen as the record wasn't very rare. Years later, when I was more flush (about 86/87/88) I bought a Seven Souls from a dealer. When it arrived in the post, I was amazed to see it was in my old Azie Mortimer paper sleeve !!!!!
