Yep i would also choose to be the best ever dancer,but when you look at the adulation that DJs such as Butch get maybe some would choose that option along with their records of course.I once got told that a dancer's ability was inversely proportional to the size of his record collection.However this is blown way out of the water when you look at the Likes of Keb Darge and more recently Liam Q who have it both ways --The Sods

It is a great question but as the best dancer I ever saw was actually gay and the DJ with the best collection was up his own arse I am noy inclined to be transformed into either of them.

Seriously though - I would be the DJ with the best collection. Then I could sell half of them and pay for dancing lessons.

Collection every time. The quality of dancing is so subjective anyway. Look at some of the finalists in last years "World Norther Soul Dancing Championships"

Ahh that's because having a great collection and being a great DJ are two different things

Being the greatest Dancer or DJ are probably both subjective having the greatest collection probably isn't. I can think of loads of 'northern' records I wouldn't buy but can't think of any I would rather not own than own (inc Mercy ). If that makes any sense?

I'd have both of those if they came via this mythical magic wand, though I wouldn't buy either of them. And as for playing them out maybe just if I was DJing for a dance competition

I can't imagine Butch's current adulation is anywhere near the respect Richard Searling received the last two years of the Casino, Searling had a playlist to die for, some of his sounds still stand today as amongst the best records ever played, i.e. Cecil Washington, Court Davis, Moses Dillard and so many others, so to answer the question i don't think you could ever beat Richard Searlings legendary status.
