Dean
Do wish we could get some respect for labels. This is promoted as a re-issue by www.soulon45 so no attempt to con but why re-issueing with the date stamp? Why try for such obvious look-a-likes? Tend to have more respect for re-issues that have their own identity that may one day be colectable in their own right. Link to comment Social source share
Pete S
That's a recent reissue or bootleg of an existing reissue by the looks of it, looks nothing like the "original" reissue. As for the date stamp - why bother. Link to comment Social source share

As for the date stamp - why bother. That's what I was thinking, am trying to keep my mind open as to if the date stamp has any retro appeal? I'm struggling to recall what the original looks llike, I think it was very close to the "original" re-issue if memeory serves me right, so wouldn't be so close to this more recent one. I'm still of the opinion why not put a current date stamp on if you want a date stamp to identify it as what it is. I'm sure I've got a Jerry Williams - If you ask me, (second issue) with a 1973 date stamp on it that now seems quite cool as it identifies the record clearly as what it is. Deano, the fonts style and size are all to cock.Date stamp will appeal to.....................erm dunno. The vinyl of the boot is brown when held up to the light.Or is it the orig? Get some work done!!!! Link to comment Social source share
Dave Moore
There is no 'reissue'. The 'pressing' was a bootleg counterfeit produced by someine in UK as far as I know. This latest 'reissue' one with the date stamp is nothing like the orig or that counterfeit. Link to comment Social source share
Chalky
this is the first "re-issue" "counterfeit" "boot" or whatever other term you wish to use....... They were done in the UK, well by someone from here, he is/was a member of SS. Edited October 5, 2009 by chalky Link to comment Social source share

Chalky
My 'boot' is the same as that but without the date stamp. Got it about 15 years ago there were only a handful if I remember rightly that were done with the date stamp. Link to comment Social source share

Patto
Same here Yep mine same no date stamp.as said earlier hold it up to a bright light and the vinyl is brown and you can see the light through it.Still treasure it though part of my Northern Soul journey, also think the first counterfeit is now quite hard to get and can fetch a tidy sum.Hate the look of that recent boot Link to comment Social source share

Sorry, memory failure, not a date stamp, written on. Took some diggin out! I'm well aware this isn't an original but my point is this is more credible as it's not pretending to be something else, and I've more respect for that and the chance it may be (mildly) collectable one day in its own right. Rich B
I'm sure I was given a boot in the hope I would play it in my spot once - would have been late 80's or early 90's (it was at the Swan in Mansfield if that helps) and that did have a date stamp. you could see through a colour through that one too. best, RB Link to comment Social source share
Soul-slider
Well, this one went for £321 on ebay a couple of years back and it's exactly the same as my copy, bet it's a 'boot' too!!! Link to comment Social source share
