Mace Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 You've caught me out again Mace Cheque is speeding it's way to Ted as we speak Dazz link Surprised you never drove over to pick it up at that price! Couldn't have gone to a nicer bloke though... The fact that it won't be staying at yours for long before being sold on for a handsome profit is besides the point
Mace Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 Whilst on the subject of bargains Dazz...don't suppose you know who won the Willie & Mighty Magnificents 'Check it baby' for $26 in a lot of records the other day do you? It was listed as 'B' side, which I wasn't sure if was correct one, and didn't have time to find out till after the auction end, so I only bid low...

Ted Massey Posted July 20, 2005 Author Posted July 20, 2005 Cheers mate... Now you won't forget will you.... Later..... link If Dazz is a dealer he aint having it I did not spend hard earn money on records for people to make money of me
Dazz Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 If Dazz is a dealer he aint having it I did not spend hard earn money on records for people to make money of me link Ted I can assure you I'm not a dealer, just a collector and have been for the past 30 years. Any records I sell are purely seconds, hell I don't even sell records I don't like unless I've got another copy. Mace is just giving me a raggin' for my Ebay snipe bidding technique. I do not have any other copies of this record although I have been unsuccesful at aquiring a copy on Ebay many times. I can assure you Ted it will become a treasured item in my collection. Kind regards Dazz

Ted Massey Posted July 20, 2005 Author Posted July 20, 2005 Suprised someone has not taken Charlie McCoy didnt some stupid person pay 400+ on manships
Mace Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 Dazz ain't a dealer Ted...just bloody good at beating me to bargains (usually on ebay) hence me giving him a hard time when he owned up to getting it. Didn't know Dazz had got it, wasn't even sure it had been sold other than your second posting of list didn't have it on, so no intentions of upsetting anyone....just thought it was cheap! At the end of the day the record is only worth what some-one will pay, and if no one else had contacted you about the Billy Butler then you've sold for a price both you and buyer are happy with. Regards, Mace.

Platters 81 Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 I'm convinced the version of "Found true love" is a different mix/take on the Edsel LP than the Okeh 45,,,,,,anyone want to check to see if they agree?
Mike Shawe Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 Is this that lovely tune that Gav Paige used to play (70's sound) If You Want A Love Affair? Hi there! That may be Jesse James 'If You Want A Love Affair?' on 20th Century you are referring to - a sublime slice of 70's soul and certainly one of my favourites
