Dave Rimmer Posted April 21, 2004 Posted April 21, 2004 At least three of those tracks were previously unreleased until put out by Kent. Add in the unreleased Motown, and it's probably a boot CD
Haydn Posted April 21, 2004 Posted April 21, 2004 Could be Dave, Looks a bit of a mish-mash of different labels and sounds there. Got any info at all about it Tony????
Tony Smith Posted April 22, 2004 Author Posted April 22, 2004 Obviously it's a boot CD, I'm trying to find out who's done it, all info gratefully recieved, keep your eyes peeled for me, Thanks
Guest in town Mikey Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 Is the Porgy and the Monarchs track the one issued on Bell? I was round Dave Thorleys one day, and he was doing a deal for that with Richard Searling. I remember him playing it, but it didnt really kick off, and got dropped quite quickly. Dont know about the cd, but it has some killer tunes.
Guest Kolla Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 Yep - a lot of these tracks are on Goldmine's Big City Soul - volume 4 inc. Judy Clay - but sorry, can't help on where to get hold of boot CDs - Did you see the list at a nighter or something?

Someone mentioned they'd picked one up at a soul nite over on Soul Talk, I noticed some Kent trax on it, told Ady, he asked me to see what I could find out.
Guest Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 Isn't the Pogy & Monarchs track the unissued one only available on a Kent LP?
Tony Smith Posted April 22, 2004 Author Posted April 22, 2004 Yeah, Keb played both at Stafford, "Keep a Hold On" being the same as Diane Lewis, both were unissued Musicor.
Guest in town Mikey Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 Any idea what the song was I am thinking of?? It was definetly on Bell, I held it while they bartered. It was very slow. I really thought it was Congratulations. But you know how the mind plays tricks.
