Guest soulboy Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 following on from a few posts do you think if someone won the lotto or found a box of mega rear toons,in the attic or digging in the garden, would that make them a top dj ? i only ask cos iv been doing the lotto for years theres f**k all in the attic and iv dug the garden over nothing what next
Guest kid mohair Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Absoloutley not, a good dj can make a £20 record sound like a £1000 pound record...
The Tempest Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Mmmmm , all I can say is that if you have plenty of money and buy your wish list of tunes and everybody else's for that matter , you are bound to get a spot somewhere , and as the saying goes " From small acorns mighty oaks grow "
ImberBoy Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 Good question, what does make the DJ? I personally have no time for the phony famous. I don't mind cheque book Charlie's and born again Brian's (I do apologise for any DJ known as Charlie or Brian) I am of course impressed with a good record box but if they are a knob head then I don't visit their venue, well not too often any way. To play your stuff is one thing but to play the right stuff takes a little more, don't ask me what coz I don't know. I have seen the mighty and the meek both fill and empty dance floors so I think the dancer has a lot to do with it, Maxims has the floor that will tolerate most things and give them a fair crack of the whip. I love to hear new stuff but it's got to be soulful and danceable, I'm, not a beard stroker and most DJ's have some thing to offer unless they are just the meat n tattie boys with little to know imagination. I think kid no hair has a valid point
