After many years on the scene i have never heard any DJ play the brill flip to JIMMIE RAYE--PHILLY DOG AROUND THE WORLD.The flip is called JUST CAN'T TAKE IT NO MORE.It is a mid tempo spine tingler with a pounding beat that would sound great mid-nighter.Has anyone uesd it in their sets and did it get spins in the past.Can anyone PM me a mp3 of it would love to share it around.

Cheers--Patto

I've played the flip a couple of times at the local collectors night over here...tis a mighty fine tune, as you say!

He has a good website worth visiting:

>>> jimmie Raye <<<

1967, "I Just Can't Take No More," featured Jimmie Raye singing live at the Purple Palace Cafe on 125th St. in New York City, for the film

drama "Round Trip". The Director Pierre-Dominque Gaisseau's fillm synopsis.....A Frenchman heads for the Big Apple to start anew.

He begins an affair with a struggling African American Model trying to leave the ghettos. Conflict. He's fascinated by her Harlem roots.

I played it out once on one of my very occasional dj spots Patto.... I never get spots and when i do its early doors (ie a virtually empty hall) So to please me,myself and I its great to play sounds like this. It's fabulous....this sides worth the £500 + on it's own,wish i'd never sold it now.

Hope you enjoy Baz A's soundclip...

I never owned an original phil closest i got was the lookalike 70s boot which i still have 20 years on.Always thought just can't take no more was a Stafford type of spin but as i say never heard anyone play it.Never seen it on CD either unless someone knows different.Think its a nighter track leaving the stomping A side for the soul night crowd

Should be played at a soul night too Patto... if anyone is a dj out there....have the balls to play the flip. People who really enjoy midtempo dancers would love this!! My copy went to a dj (name not given to me but hope he/she plays it!!)
