Tabs
I'd be worrying about the lack of Southern Comfort Have you ever been asked (almost begged ) for a paticular record to be played when you dj'd ? ImberBoy
I was horrified to read this post yet I find it indicative of the Northernsoul in general, I would definitely name and shame him or her because this is not the sort of person that we want or need at our events. The promoters are being let down, the DJ's and collectors and even the artists themselves are indirectly being let down, yes this sounds a little over the top but I will explain..... Imagine one of the punters has asked for an underplayed, forgotten or abandoned track like say "A Touch of Velvet a Sting of Brass" then this would have been an ideal opportunity to give this track a rebirth and as daft as this may seam, the chance of that artist re issuing the track and earning some money, lets face it we have all felt the pinch of late. I think who ever is responsible for this should realise the implications and at least buy the DJ a drink, Southern comfort n Coke wasn't it? Yes i think a written apology would be the right thing to do (but it must be laminated) so i can parade it about when i go out and i think he should wear a badge at all times saying " Spot ruiner" Link to comment Social source share
ImberBoy
I have just received an e-mail from Columbia's lawyers who represent Mark Wirtz, I am pasting this in: Dear Sir Our office received three phone calls today reference the request for Mood Mosaic: A Touch of Velvet a Sting of Brass. Our client, Mark Wirtz, is insistent that he could possibly enter into talks to consider the re issue of A Touch of Velvet a Sting of Brass originally released in 1966 on EMI Columbia DB 7901 as long as this gets some plays on the nighter scene.
