Premium Stuff Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 Anyone got the definitive story behind these two versions of Dusty Wilson on Mutt please? Different label variations - one crediting the Corals and also with the Inkster address. Anyone know if the dead wax details are the same please? Cheers Richard

Cheers Richard Hi Richard First thing I noticed was obviously that press, guessing a good chance of being from the same master plates. I don't own a copy, however this listing from PopSike is one of Carls from June 2009 (Carl P On Soul Source) Carl Pellegrino he may be able to help. Courtesy of Carl Pellegrino
Premium Stuff Posted April 2, 2011 Author Posted April 2, 2011 Just reviving this thread to see if anyone knows anything else on these label variations Can anyone supply the dead wax details of what seems to be the more common version without the Corals and Inkster credits please? If Popsike is anything to go by there are twice the number of copies without the Corals credit. I can provide dead wax details for the Corals credited copy to compare Also spotted that the producer credits are different. Cheers Richard
Phil Shields Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Richard Just had a look at my copy just credited to Dusty Wilson although at some point, a long time ago judging by the faded biro, someone has handwritten and the emeralds beneath DWs name...any how the run out says I think - RITE 51870 15907 mutt a a1 atb Phil
Premium Stuff Posted April 2, 2011 Author Posted April 2, 2011 (edited) Nice one Phil - thank you My copy has slightly different marks: RITE - 1610 15907 MUTT A A1 ® I have looked at this with a hand lens to get a good look. RITE is stamped in but the rest is scratched in. Interesting stuff but I'm none the wiser. Any deadwax experts out there please? Cheers Richard Edited April 2, 2011 by Premium Stuff
Phil Shields Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Yep mine looks the same RITE stamped and the rest scratched in...think mine has the r in a circle to on a closer look
Premium Stuff Posted April 2, 2011 Author Posted April 2, 2011 Thanks Phil So yours starts with: RITE 51870 15907 Mine starts with: RITE - 1610 15907 Given that the differences in numbering are not in the same format (yours 5 digit and mine 4 digit) I'm not sure what that signifies Cheers Richard
Guest Johnny Mack Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Just checked mine, its the one without the Corals and inkster credit. The deadwax credit is as follows with RITE stamped and rest scratched RITE - 1610 15907 MUTT A A1 ® Best John

Phil's is different in the deadwax, but has the same label credits as your copy by the sounds of it. Intriguing Cheers Richard
