Guest MissHongkongfuey Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 As i get older, I can run to the loo, come back down stairs with a cross-legged walk only to forget why i went up there in the 1st place! However.....I never forget where i was when i heard a choon that blew me away. I always manage to remember the Event and Venue but most importantly....The Master of Spin that provided me with that feeling of pure majestic listening! Even from the days of youth club disco's....it's all still there locked away in the brain. Even stuff played down the phone sticks with me. Just a few of the gemms in the brain from recent years........ Mom Won't You Teach Me To Monkey - Little Emmett Sutton - Kev C @ No More Doggin Albert Washington - I'm The Man - Sam Moore @ The Stute Big Daddy Rucker - Jealous Man / Baby Baby Oh Baby - Jimmy Ed Trio - Rob Gray@ Shakedown Staffs Hard Row To Hoe - Otis lee - Simon Hunt @ No More Doggin Gospel Pearls - 2 Lil Fishes - Mik Parry via a Refrosoul clip a few years back on here I've even got PC folders of compilations of songs that remind me of these events and DJs......J.Dutton, Steve Hiscock, D Hudson, Hoss, Melton Mafia, Henderson/Welsby/Warburton, Roger Banks......The list is massive. For me it's pure homage to the folk that have given me some of the most majestic listening of my life. Am i just extra sad or is this normal for a enthusiastic music lover??? You see.....I'm supposed to remember where i was when Elvis died, Princess Diana or John Lennon but for me......It's just the Soul n' R&B that hit me hardest!!!
