Ian Parker Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 saw Jnr Walker there, i thought it was about 79/80. also went to an alldayer there in the late 70's. The only bus was about 10am so i had a bloody long wait until it opened . I remember Soul Sam & Bub spinning. The 'oldies' room was tiny, 4 people on the dancefloor pretty much filled it .

We used to travel up from Rushden Northants. Not sure of the year but John Manship used to run it. Tony Parker used to run a coach to the Dayers. Had some good times there.Kimbo.

Theothertosspot Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 Went to the Painted Lady with Richard Lord and Jonah. Remember Seven Dwarfs being a big sound at the time, though Sam didn’t have a copy as he didn’t like it.
Theothertosspot Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 (edited) If memory serves me right the main room was circular (or ellipse) with a balcony above and the main stage under a slight alcove. As usual I could be wrong. Edited June 14, 2019 by theothertosspot Omitted something
