Guest greentangerine Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Noticing it alot on ebay, what's it like if I am just buying stuff I carn't afford... is the quality any good... typically seem to be about £7 posted and unplayed.... where as looking at £100 for some of originals.
Modernsoulsucks Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 (edited) Noticing it alot on ebay, what's it like if I am just buying stuff I carn't afford... is the quality any good... typically seem to be about £7 posted and unplayed.... where as looking at £100 for some of originals. Im not that sure but this label may have started off as a legit re-issue company but then went over to less than legal output. It's not to be confused with 60's/early 70's Dave Godin label which I assume were all legit. Anyway look at link https://music.shop.ebay.co.uk/i.html?_nkw=soul+city&_sacat=45534&_trksid=p3286.m270.l1313&LH_BIN=1&_sop=10&_dmpt=UK_Records&_odkw=soul+city&_osacat=45534&_rdc=1 You'll see fourth entry down is 10 for £20 so £7 seems high to me. Often see them on Ebay very cheap. I believe some ain't great soundwise. ROD Edited August 25, 2009 by modernsoulsucks
Soul-slider Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Worth a punt of the more recent releases is Johnny Sayles 'I Can't Get Enough Of Your Love' for the previously unreleased gem 'Tell Me Where I Stand' on the flip!
