Guest Mr T L C Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 I´ve never really been able to figure out which label design that was used first. Was it the gold coloured one with red print or the yellow one with red print? Thanks in advance.
Guest TONY ROUNCE Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 They're both 'first pressings' - the yellow with red writing is a national Vee Jay-distributed copy, whereas the Gold one is the (mostly) local Memphis pressing. Both of these labels were in use at the same time, many 100 series Goldwax 45s are available in both formats. 106 is actually harder to find on the yellow with red script than on the gold one.
