Ty Karim - Ain't That Love Enough - Ebony 101 DJ

ty karim -aint that love enough - mp3 -

Can someone give me some info on this record please.

Is this the legit way to own this version of this track or is there an earlier release.

The version on Roach 102 sounds too manic to me.

Hi Doc,

Someone might correct me on this but to my knowledge the Ebony 45 is the only way to get it on vinyl. If not then I owe an apology to whoever it was that bought a copy off me a few months back...cos thats what I told them laugh.gif .

Adam.

Forgot to comment on your main point.

I remember this appearing in the eighties and it did sound like it came from master tape origins. So poss legit, in some form or another

Many thanks for the replies so far.

So to re-cap.

We think there was not an earlier release of this version.

The same version was on one of the Lowton anniversary singles.

This particlar copy came straight from Manships auction about 5yrs ago so I'm hoping this was an official release.

Thanks again

Doc

Please see an email from John Manship that should answer some questions:

Dr P

Ty Karim was pressed in 1984 300 copies only, they came via Simon Sousann and were a John Manship exclusive, no other dealer had them to my knowledge.

Simon got Kent Harris himself to press the 45, so it was all legal.

In recent times we have encountered only a few copies, 9 in all in the last 10 years every one we have sold immediately.

Hope that answers your query

John

Many thanks

Whatever Simon told John, i doubt if Kent knew about it as the credits have all been changed and the publishing switched, it seems more likely the tape came from the owner of Ebony who belatedly claimed the publishing.
