Guest Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Hi Doc, Someone might correct me on this but to my knowledge the Ebony 45 is the only way to get it on vinyl. If not then I owe an apology to whoever it was that bought a copy off me a few months back...cos thats what I told them . Adam.

Mark Bicknell Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 I would suspect that the only legit release of this is on the Ty Karim - Kent CD? but I could be wrong. Regards - Mark Bicknell.

Steve G Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Didn't Dearlove have something to do with putting this out?
Guest Dr Pickles Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Many thanks for the replies so far. So to re-cap. We think there was not an earlier release of this version. The same version was on one of the Lowton anniversary singles. This particlar copy came straight from Manships auction about 5yrs ago so I'm hoping this was an official release. Thanks again Doc
KevH Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Like so many tracks - taken from orig master tapes, put out later?.Soul Police waiting to pounce if played out

Guest Dr Pickles Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Please see an email from John Manship that should answer some questions: Dr P Ty Karim was pressed in 1984 300 copies only, they came via Simon Sousann and were a John Manship exclusive, no other dealer had them to my knowledge. Simon got Kent Harris himself to press the 45, so it was all legal. In recent times we have encountered only a few copies, 9 in all in the last 10 years every one we have sold immediately. Hope that answers your query John Many thanks Doc

Ady Croasdell Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 Also that would make it a 100% legitimate deal and I'm not sure if Simon was capable of that.
