Denbo
Johnny & the Baa Baas - Move Along - on Frankie This is just 1 minute 45 seconds long Good record though, just very short. Any improvements on that? Link to comment Social source share
Guest TONY ROUNCE
Not soul, but the shortest record in my collection is... Shel Silverstein - 26 Second Song (Columbia) ...which actually lasts 25 seconds. It came out on a single in 1971... Pete S
Because I used to collect reggae labels, I bought anything on PYRAMID and there was a record by Stavely Makepiece (aka Lt. Pigeon!) called Greasy haired Woman which for some reason came out on Pyramid, it couldn't have been more than 30 seconds long Link to comment Social source share
Eddie Hubbard
Haven't got one , but isn't The Velvet Satins really short 1.45 or something similar ? Best,Eddie Link to comment Social source share
Dean
1.45 seems to be a recurring time! Not sure if it's the shortest in my boxes but 'The Halos - Do I' (1.45 on label) always hit me as very brief. At a time when my feet could could time with my mind I didn't mind its brevity, about 45 seconds too long for my knees now. Link to comment Social source share

Mick Holdsworth
Didn't this all get done about a year ago ? I timed both sides of the B Harner inst - both came out at 1:29 - (probably doesn't count as it was never intended to be that short) I think a strong contender was the Gordons Gin Theme (about 30 seconds ). Birder66
I started out as a hardcore punk. I've got stacks of LPs with songs that are no more than a few seconds long. I've got a split Ep, where both sides are one second long (feat. Napalm Death and Electro Hippies). Beat that! Link to comment Social source share

It's a small but exclusive club. Link to comment Social source share

Denbo
Is that short enough !! Thanks Ken AND what a stonkin' good group the Staples Singers are. Mavis(?) Staples, for me, has one of those everlastingly distinctivevoices that make me tingle all over, just like Aretha Franklin. I feelrefreshed afterwards.
