Johnny & the Baa Baas - Move Along - on Frankie

This is just 1 minute 45 seconds long

Good record though, just very short.

Any improvements on that?

Not soul, but the shortest record in my collection is...

Shel Silverstein - 26 Second Song (Columbia)

...which actually lasts 25 seconds. It came out on a single in 1971...

Because I used to collect reggae labels, I bought anything on PYRAMID and there was a record by Stavely Makepiece (aka Lt. Pigeon!) called Greasy haired Woman which for some reason came out on Pyramid, it couldn't have been more than 30 seconds long

1.45 seems to be a recurring time! Not sure if it's the shortest in my boxes but 'The Halos - Do I' (1.45 on label) always hit me as very brief. At a time when my feet could could time with my mind I didn't mind its brevity, about 45 seconds too long for my knees now.

Jesse Johnson, left out on old town. Reckon it's 1-51 and sounds bloody awesome. One of the best IMO. Tony T BONE. oz. k.t.f.

Didn't this all get done about a year ago ?

I timed both sides of the B Harner inst - both came out at 1:29 - (probably doesn't count as it was never intended to be that short)

I think a strong contender was the Gordons Gin Theme (about 30 seconds ).

Yeah, I did the same thing because its obvious there should have been another verse! Such a shame too coz its a great dancer! Guess the budget for studio time expired!thumbup.gif

I started out as a hardcore punk. I've got stacks of LPs with songs that are no more than a few seconds long. I've got a split Ep, where both sides are one second long (feat. Napalm Death and Electro Hippies). Beat that!

And now we're doing it again. Besides, who remembers a year ago.

Is your Billy Harner a UK Kama Sutra? If so, then you are one of only six known collectors with a copy.

It's a small but exclusive club.

Is that short enough !!

Thanks Ken AND what a stonkin' good group the Staples Singers are.

Mavis(?) Staples, for me, has one of those everlastingly distinctivevoices that make me tingle all over, just like Aretha Franklin. I feelrefreshed afterwards.
