Apologies for being a bit tardy. Had to knock up a presentation for work and running a tad late.

Staying with the tradition of using performers not usually thought of a soul artists - here's this weeks. There are a couple of questions that I won't answer this time as I think it might give it away to easily

Feel free to have a random guess. It all adds to the fun

Nah - she didn't have a two word hit. She did have a hit though, although later in her career than when this pic was taken.

Depends on whether you like a bit of harmless fun or prefer to concentrate on the old belly button fluff

Actually, yes. It's a fine tradition

Sorry Barny - should have made it clear. The rule is they have to have a record played on the Northern Soul scene

That's a terrible excuse - take 50 lines Isis.

Actually I usually only take questions to which I can give yes/no answers. I 'll let you off this time and tell you she's a solo performer - although there's a connection to a well known group.

I like Jam and Jerusalem too but don't tell anyone

Good point Webby! On a technical note though she wasn't named on the record and our girl was.

Who Tanita Tikaram?

It used to freak me the way her eyes used to roll up in her head when she sang. Didn't know she was German at the time either...

That wasn't the answer I was looking for ..........again

Well she only really had one hit in the UK and US. Other tunes may have scraped the bottom end of the charts. It's possible that she had the off chart success in other countries so I wouldn't rule it out. Won't help though - it's her big hit that's significant and would probably give the game away.
