Guest Paul Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 don't use a kitchen knife to open a record mailer!!!! Only a fool would be stupid enough to open a record mailer with a kitchen knife, with the obvious risk or causing damage to the contents. Actually, I did this myself once I know a fool who did something similar. I hope it was a lesson to me him ...whoever he is.

boba Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 don't use a kitchen knife to open a record mailer!!!! i know someone else who did this on an expensive record that was packed with strapping tape (like that brown tape with rope in it that you need a knife to open) and cracked the record in half.

Mach Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Another good tip, i find, is to never place your head into a lions mouth..
Benji Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 A few years ago I used a kitchen knife to "brutally" open a parcel sent from the UK. Packet was a UK style one, i.e. I expected two cardboard stiffeners inside. Problem was, seller obviously tried to save costs by not including any stiffeners, so I ended up with a nice record, vinyl intact but a deep scratch all over the label, from one side to the other....
