even earlier than Pete if they are playing the Coasters and Ronnie & Robyn. More like the early half of '74. Haven't got to the tune in question though yet!

best,

OK thanks for your replies so far much appreciated

Later than I first thought (apologies Pete - what the hell are they doing playing oldies from '74?) as walter Murphy is the track before the one in question. Is it Bohannon "Disco stomp"?

Can't help, sorry, but I can confidently say that the tape is from late 74 or early 75 and definitely not 76.

pete this tape IS from 1976 [i think the early part may be earlier] this is my tape taken from milliondollardisco. the record in question is the sound of the disco rock by the stringfield family not to be confused by the arrest copy that came on to the northern scene this is the original u.s white promo copy promoed in the u.s in dec 75 its quite rare also there was a white arrest promo copy that is also rare but that is just a shorter version of the blue arrest release, the copy on this tape is a different mix so not to confuse.

original poster if you really like this i gave ewan from milliondollardisco a copy of this a few years ago and he did a nice re-edit of it in his disco demands vol 2 release, he was selling cheap copies on the site, maybee when hes got his finger out and got the site finished theyll still be there for sale theres 3 vols and they are all great.

Thanks to everyone - I've heard a few lesser known jazz funkdisco type tracks and of course there have been a few comps released but this was a complete unknown to me before hearing this recording so it makes me think there must be tons more that have either been forgotten underplayed overlooked and so on.

Any suggestions for tracks in this vein are welcome.

Thanks again
