Guest shnaggletooth Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 (edited) I actually already posted about this disc on "Look in Your Box" forum a few months back, but I didn't inquire about possible going rates, etc. List this as an auction, a BIN, necessary to do include an expensive 'featured item'? It's a beat-up 10" metal acetate of "We're Going To Make It Someday" b/w "Sock It To Me". Both sides play only "good", with scratchiness and the usual cheap acetate sound-quality (DivShare File - commotions - sock it to me _excerpt_.mp3), though no skips. "Sock It To Me" side looks like it got it was present in the same room as a paint spray-gun, with some small white-paint gobs here-and-there. "Sock It To Me" is unreleased in any format. This acetate was apparently an original member's personal copy. Edited August 15, 2009 by shnaggletooth
Guest shnaggletooth Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 Bump for any educated guesses on value, or on the need to do an expensive "featured item" or other attention-getting ebay gimmick.
Robbk Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 Do you think it is the same group that recorded for Blue Rock?
John Parker Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 Rings a bell Seem to remember him..or someone playing the Commotions track 1
Tony Smith Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 Did it mention Blue Rock on the label or was a RCA custom job? Andy, where are ye?

boba Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Same group, also recorded on "La Ro Ke" Des they also had a record on capitol. the la ro ke record credits the "camotions" but it's the same group. They were from philadelphia and Colly Williams was the male member.
Mike Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Did it mention Blue Rock on the label or was a RCA custom job? Andy, where are ye? there's a past mention of acetate in this article https://www.soul-sour...ing-in-usa-r164 1
Prophonics 2029 Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 I think I have this on an Andy Rix CD but was sure it was called something else, also a different take knowing Andy's collection.
Andy Rix Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Sorry for delay chaps Here it is ... 7" acetate Andy 1
Dave Abbott Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Thanks Andy (and Mike for the previous info link) The one on ebay 2+ years ago was different then (well aesthetically)...
Guest shnaggletooth Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 (edited) No mention of Blue Rock on the blank acetate labels -- just the song titles, typed onto the labels. The acetate is now owned by someone in the UK. I would upload onto divshare the entire song, but I don't know about the copyright/legal issues -- even if it an unreleased track.
