Guest Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 the very same ken, but is that a sister company of spectrum? I found a good piece about it on google, but cant find it no more i think the label is owned by the same person as spectrum, and it came out on triple b as a instrumental sorry i cant be more help.
boba Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 the very same ken, but is that a sister company of spectrum? it's not a sister company, it's a contemporary label that picked up material, they also picked up a mandells single. so it's a reissue in a sense, but not a reissue like a reissue at a later date post-hit, more like atlantic picking up a smaller label, except in this case a small label picking up a smaller label.

TripleB is by Johnny Griffith and the Billy Sha Rae Band, I'm guessing that it's a goodly number of the Funk Bros on there given the connections. Tis the best ( and cheapest) version for me Tony

John Reed Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 There are a couple of Ronnie Mitchell releases on Hour Glas too
Guest Eridu Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 The Gayletts do a nice rocksteady version of Son of A Preacher Man on Hourglass... I assumed that Hourglass was a US label releasing Jamaican titles. Can anyone shed some light on this?
