Benji Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 Can somebody please help me with current prices for: Flyers - Mainline is sunshine - German Toledo 45 Jackie Lee & The Raindrops - There goes the lucky one - UK Ember 45 TIA! Benji
Reforee Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 The Flyers a great 70s dancer . Got a tip off Gedd Lunt about 4 to 5 years ago took me about a year to find one. Hard to value it as not well known outside of North West methinks? except Bedfordshire!! Would expect a £50 plus tag on it, but you never know when one might pop up before the rush starts Id rate it at £100 of anybodys money. I think they were a bunch of Canadian/Americans serving in the forces Cant help you with the other one, hope this helps Dave Halsall TMIB
Benji Posted August 12, 2009 Author Posted August 12, 2009 Dave, thanks for the info about The Flyers. Don't know about origin of the group itself but the song was written and produced in Berlin, West Germany as a a matter of fact. Just bought one blind after I had seen it mentioned here on SS. You're right, great 70s dancer. I understand german-only release on 45? (apparently it came out on LP somewhere else)
Benji Posted August 13, 2009 Author Posted August 13, 2009 Don't know about origin of the group itself but the song was written by some Germans and produced in Berlin, West Germany as a a matter of fact. Just bought one blind for a few euros after I had seen it mentioned here on SS. You're right, great 70s dancer. I understand german-only release on 45? (apparently it came out on LP somewhere else) Obviously was typing faster than I was thinking last night. Now it makes more sense IMO...

(apparently it came out on LP somewhere else) I have the Flyers LP on a Bulgarian label - As I can read fook all from the sleeve notes I always thought they were a Bulgarian band? Good to know they were German after all this time and I didn't know there was a 45 til now either! Yep, Ged Lunt was responsible for whispering this tip in the ears of the North West jocks many years ago (Don't know where he heard it first, maybe Steve Jackson?)! Sean Robbins & Bob Smith also got onto it a couple of years ago and gave it another lease of life on their radio show too! Not the best record in the world imho BUT worthy of a spin now and then methinks? Cheers Steve
