Azie Mortimer - You'd Better Get Away

Been listening to an old Keb tape from 1986, and there's one track in particular I can't get out of my mind - "You'd Better Get Away" by Azie Mortimer.

Does anyone know what this really is? From what I can remember at the 100 Club during this time, Keb played it off a 12" acetate (not sure if it was an LP track or what). I heard someone mention a few years ago that it was actually called "Get Away", by a girl group.

Anyone know about it, and what it's really called and, most importantly, who is it by? I presume it's a one-off. So, who is now the lucky owner of the acetate? Please put me out of my misery - this is such an awesome track!

Without hearing it to be absolutely sure I'll stick my neck out and say that this is probably the track that John Vincent used to play in the late 70s as The Sequins - You'd better get away .... I certainly recall it got some further airtime during the Keb era but I seem to recall Guy being the one who pushed it the most ... my memory might be letting me down here

Anyway .. it's a track I've always loved and one I actually missed hearing for many years as it seemed to have disappeared for a second time .. first JV then Keb/Guy ..... imagine my delight when Ady Croasdell called me one day to ask me if i knew anything about an unreleased Swan recording called 'Run run run' .. he played it to me and it was the very same 'Sequins' tune ... what a good day that was

So .. it's the Persianettes and you can find it on the Kent CD that features the Swan recordings

I guess Guy must have sold that copy to Keb in mid-1986.
