Tank Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Don't post very often so apologies if this rakes over old ground! Keep hearing some good old Soul/Funk stuff popping up at random in the background in some stores. Recently heard Matt Browns' 'Thank You', Ann Sexton 'You Can't Win', Melba Moore 'Standing Right Here', G.S. Herons' 'Bottle' amongst others inter-mingled with the likes of Coldplay and other chart/popular tunes by I've no idea whom!! These were not heard in cool independent fashion emporiums (which I obviously frequent a lot!) who might know about such stuff, but places like TK Maxx, Next etc. Any other unlikely tracks/locations to report? Cheers.
Gene-r Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 (edited) 4 years ago, while having a meal with friends at Old Orleans in Ipswich, heard "I Don't Need No Doctor" by Ray Charles played over the speakers. Edited August 10, 2009 by Gene-R
Missing Link Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Heard Dobie Gray 'Out On The Floor' in Tesco a few months ago amongst a random selection of chart tunes.

It may be that Mr T K Maxx got a load of cheapo Northern Soul cd's in return for selling over priced ex catalogue clothes and bottles of expensive olive oil Grant
