Godzilla Posted August 9, 2009 Author Posted August 9, 2009 Polly James?? Nope. But I can see why you might think so
Godzilla Posted August 9, 2009 Author Posted August 9, 2009 Sunny who sang 'Doctors Orders?' Nope. This singer never sang with T Rex. Wrong continent in fact.
Godzilla Posted August 9, 2009 Author Posted August 9, 2009 No embarrassment in having a punt folks. I'll take questions to which I can give yes / no answers if you like. No actual clues until we've had a few more guesses though.
Godzilla Posted August 9, 2009 Author Posted August 9, 2009 ...Where does T.rex fit into this equation??!!....Is she one of The Paper Dolls?! Sunny sang back up on 20th Century Boy. And also sang with Dusty, Mott The Hoople, Joe Cocker, Love Affair LINK Like I said though - not from UK so not Paper Dolls either, mate.
Godzilla Posted August 9, 2009 Author Posted August 9, 2009 (edited) muriel day ? or nita rossi, Muriel Day was Irish and Nita Rossi English, although of Italian descent. You know that other continent I mentioned? I meant not Europe - including the British Isles Nita Rossi did some good stuff though, didn't she? Edited August 9, 2009 by Godzilla

Godzilla Posted August 9, 2009 Author Posted August 9, 2009 if i cant sleep tonight and miss work to tomorrow its your fault toni basil bernadatte peters oh - isn't any of those two either. No hits of any kinbd as far as I can tell so gals like Toni are right out. Bernadette Peters has been in Ugly Betty. There's speculations she has had 'work' as she was born in 1948

Godzilla Posted August 9, 2009 Author Posted August 9, 2009 (edited) Its not her, but she looks a bit like Anita Humes Suz x Except Anita Hulmes is black. Suzannek Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 Except Anita Hulmes is black. Other than that you're well on your way to solving it. Here's another clue Suz - aint a bloke either ps- not Liz Verdi either Always thought Anita Humes was hispanic the same as Bobby Paris. The lady in the photo looks rather hispanic also. Its not Sandy Posey, who did A Single Girl and had a Northern Soul song "Caution to the Wind". Suz x

Godzilla Posted August 10, 2009 Author Posted August 10, 2009 Two records?....is it Linda Lyndell Nope = good call re: two records. However, neither of this girl's records were hits. The one known to the souls scene sounds like it from around 1970 (at a guess) and is a pop record that got played in the 'anything goes' years. I think it's pretty rare but so unfashionable it wouldn't stand a chance these days. Someone liked it enough to throw it up on Youtube though The other record I know of I haven't actually heard. Judging by this pic I would guess a sort of 'teen' thing. Sounds like there's a Motown connection with this one too - don't think there is however. More clues when I get back from work
Jill Bayles Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Back to the drawing board then...this is driving me nuts

The Yank Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Is it Jeanette Harper of "Put Me In Your Pocket" fame ?
Godzilla Posted August 10, 2009 Author Posted August 10, 2009 None of those but you're all getting warmer - or was until Sheldon's Jackie De Shannon (nothing personal!) She had an amazingly successful career if you count the stuff she's written. I'm still willing to answer questions with 'yes' or 'no' answers if you like. Otherwise I'll give some clues after tea
