Godzilla Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 A friend of mine wants to put out a vinyl single. Obviously a google search shows who masters and presses vinyl but I wondered if anyone on here can offer advice on the best manufactures with regards to quality, value for money etc. It would be handy to get some feedback from anyone who has used any UK companies. Looking at a short run here - probably 500 copies max. Thanks in advance Godz
Godzilla Posted July 26, 2009 Author Posted July 26, 2009 Should make it clear I'm talking about my pal putting out his band's recordings here - I'm not about to enter the world of bootlegging.
Dave Thorley Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 Speak to Chris King in the UK he has a pressing plant, good quality, or Archers in Detroit still at it and at good prices, will ship to UK. Dave
Godzilla Posted July 30, 2009 Author Posted July 30, 2009 Thanks Dave, Do you have an email address for Chris that you could PM to me please? I've been told by one manufacturer that if you want large hole (dinked) 45s they have to be done in Europe as nobody in the UK does them anymore. That seems surprising - can anyone verify? Cheers Paul
Guest Beeks Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 I just got an acetate cut from Timmion Records on the advice of Chalky and was very very pleased...they also cut vinyl Details here https://www.timmion.com/cutting
galaxy Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 I'd contact Timmion through www.timmion.com or timmion at gmail.com as they offer a full quality service and you can get big centre hole 45s through them.
Kris Holmes Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 The Carvery & Vinyl Factory in the UK do big hole 7"s
burt weedon Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 hi m8. if you would like to email me,i will give you the companys details for having them done cheers.....BURT.
Guest Paul Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 Hello, All UK and EU 45s are pressed with small centre-holes, as are many US 45s. The large centre-holes are punched out ("dinked") afterwards - usually at an extra cost of 3p per unit. Despite what you've been told, Vinyl Factory do it too. Best regards Paul Mooney
