Just been looking at the thread: Wigan Casino saturday nights etc. and saw there was nearly 13.000 views on it , but hang on did'nt the great club boast over a hundred thousand members?

I can accept around 10% have passed on (RIP)but where are all the others who used to be in yer face at every event there,oldies or just a regular saturday night,and those who said they went or were going and brandished a members card when you or someone else started to doubt them,thing is once you went to station road you never forgot it and it certainly made you want to go back more and more.

Because be honest how many of you wished you could go back there? quite a few or is it me just being a sad old git who has'nt moved on with his life.

But surely they have a PC and have visited SOUL SOURCE even if they have not contributed which leads me to my original question...where are you all?

I read the Saturday night thread and found it interesting. My reason for not contributing to it is, I didn't start going to Wigan until late '79 due to age and strict parents and then it was mostly to the monthly oldies nights. I went a few times to the Saturday nights on my own without the normal crowd I knocked around with, but being a shy lad I found it a bit intimidating, everyone seemed to know everyone else and there were some scary looking characters in that place. I do however regret not going more often, as I believe that the Saturday sessions gave you a much broader spectrum of music to listen to.

WIGAN CASINO where are you all...take a look at Sandi's Blog RE :- Harpos birthday Bash! and you will see a few photos of original Casino goers, and that was just at that Bash as there are many Wolverhampton people who are still about but not on these photos? every one on the photos is 100% northern soul as well as a true brother and sister who are passionate about all soul music in general?
