Dave West Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 FOR THOSE OF US WHO REMEMBER....IN THE SEVENTIES WE WERE FLOODED WITH U.K. ISSUE RECORDS OF NORTHERN HITS. THESE WERE LEGIT RELEASES AS COMPANIES CASHED IN ON THE NORTHERN SOUL BOOM. LABELS SUCH AS GRAPEVINE, JAY BOY , LONDON ETC. WE BOUGHT THEM AT THE TIME AS IT WAS THE ONLY WAY TO OWN THESE RARE GEMS,BUT ALWAYS THOUGHT ON THEM AS SECOND RATE TO THE ORIGINAL U.S. COPIES (and still do) BUT NOW THIRTY YEARS ON, AND AS THESE WERE LEGIT FIRST TIME U.K. RELEASES ARE THEY MORE ACCEPTABLE TO OWN OR ARE THEY STILL FROWNED UPON.

I noticed that on E Bay some of these 70s issues have been selling for a very high price, i dont mind them if i cannot get or afford the original
