The Tempest Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 As an avid album collector , I am usually found on here trying to find out the current going rates for albums either in my collection , or tracks / albums that I have'nt played for ages or albums that I'm still after , However , I can guarantee on every occasion that a uk collector /dj will price it at , for example £200 . An american associate will give me a figure of $200 , yet I then pick the bloody thing up on ebay at $ 100 !!!!! I am well aware of the recession, Manships guides and the ever changing world of ebay , But , I very rarely buy top wants from uk collectors as they are , in my opinion , overpriced , Manships auctions being an example , Don't get me wrong , great guy / knowledge and I've shifted loads of unwants through him over the years to bolster my collection , So why are the prices so vast in their estimates , are we back to the 70's / 80's of localised biggies , £200 in Edinburgh - £100 in Manchester - and £50 in London ?
