paultp Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 Allways like to see what people are buying, sometimes looking at ebay I think I'm the only person left buying records woth less than a grand . It ought to be an enormous record!
Guest Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 (edited) Oh yeah, my last 5.... THE ATTRACTIONS (FEATURING MORRIS CHESTNUT) 'Why Should'nt I Cry' - BELL - Terrific record, the 'Too Darn Soulful' legend delivers a corking spoken intro before storming into a meaty, beaty melodic piece of well danceable Northern 'Soul' perfection. Given the quality of the record a bargain really, well chuffed to aquire this one! BARBARA HALL - 'V.I.P' - INNOVATION 2 - I'm well hooked on this little beauty! This is a superior femme version of the HONEYCONE tune. Great 70s at a 60'S tempo with an absolutely superb female vocal and a top line production. Soulful, big hooks, great for the dancefloor, a class outing in every way. JACKIE BEAVERS - Come Back Baby - Great oldie, always loved it right back to tapes made in my mate Kev's bedroom in the 70s! Needs no description, magnificently melanchony 60s. THE ADMIRATIONS 'Don't Leave Me' - ONE-DERFUL! - Great male group, great label, very similar in style and melody to their classic 'Wait Til I Get To Know You', this is a cool, snappy 60s Chicago dancer and carries a very nice midtempo 'B' side to boot. DAVID RUFFIN - Baby Come Right On Back To Me - MOTOWN - Big boss Motown delivers again on this memorable slab of uptempo male agony. RUFFIN explodes all over the track and we are treated to a heart rending performance from one of the true vocal masters. The sort of record that sounds utterly enthralling when played at full volume and the type of cut that gets forgotten in the shadows of his TEMPTATIONS material. If this does not raise the hairs on your neck, I dont know what you are doing on this site! Edited July 11, 2009 by chorleysoul

Yet i could be wrong...I think i will research this myself. As for it sounding like a different group, this is also true. Infact, to my ears Hey mamma sounds more like a new york recording...but it is a STONKER though. Mike
