Pete S Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 Can I just point you to this clip I put up...makes the hairs on your neck stand up hearing that clapping
Guest bazabod_downunder Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 Hi Pete....I see on your link to this you are unsure of the date.....I was there that night also, remember it well as she sang 'one way out' with no backing as the band didn't know it & it wasn't in her set, I've just looked in my diary the date was Febuary 24th 1979, seem to recall that The Detroit Emeralds were the support act, whoever it was did a few covers one being a Jacksons number....I had a tape of this night somewhere I'll see if I can dig it out. KTF Baz Can I just point you to this clip I put up...makes the hairs on your neck stand up hearing that clapping

Billyboy Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 Tobacco stained condensation in the record bar, wear a white shirt you'd look like a dalmation Wish I'd gone more often tho..........marriage & young kids took most of me money Tobacco stained condensation in the record bar...which dripped from black ceiling Stalactites. Toilets blocked and ankle deep in piss most of the time. Carpets & furniture from the 1930's,40's & 50's, so dark you didn't realise the chewing gums stuck to your arse. But it was ours every bloody weekend......BRILLIANT..... Only thing that comes close nowadays is Prestatyn IMHO and thats only twice a year

grantdyche Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 Apart from the sounds, ankle deep piss in the bogs, never any bog roll to wipe your arse on or if there was it was pissed wet,the condensation dripping all over you,the record sellers in the back bar, crates full of empty pop bottles, walking out in the morning when the sun hit your eyes going down the stairs, having "nightshift"stamped on your wrist if you went out for a few minutes,Wondering if Mrs Woods would let us in(nevermind the doormen),The walk back to the train station in the morning listening to our cassette tapes of the night before, The one thing I remember most about "The Casino" was the feeling of being a part of it all, No nonsence never any agro that I ever witnessed anyway, I also now thinking about it remember the bar upstairs on the balcony,Right hand side, selling the weakest ever milky cups of tea,and really shite meat pies Ah memories (cue song) Grant

Guest POTTERIESPECK Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 Always used to dread the daylight breaking from the roof in the main rooom. It did'nt matter if it was Spring,Summer, Autumn or Winter it always got into my head that the night[ morning ] was coming to a end. OH HAPPY DAYS.
