Martha Reeves live at Wigan Casino

Posted info:
; Having a few problems getting this to work but basically it's a short clip from a live tape of Martha Reeves at Wigan casino, now I saw her there and it was January 1978 but there is no way that this is that date - I can tell by the sounds played after she finishes and I think this is at least a year later (includes Don Ray, Patrick Bradley, Construction). Great atmosphere though, hope you enjoy it.

That was the night I fell in love with Ava The Raver from Widnes.

The sound file doesn't really do justice to the atmosphere.

You need this pic.....

That was the night I got on a minibus and went to Egham where your mum made us breakfast. Then went to dance in Windsor train station.

Yes 1979.

I was there and my 1st Wigan nighter was the week after the anniversary in "78.

Never seen the Casino so packed it took ages to get in. I remember she did "One Way Out" accapella as the band didn"t know the song. Oh and the Vandellas were one girl & one guy !

Cheers Paul

It was indeed a great night I was pushed right up to the stage by the crowd and she bent down to shake hands with me and few others. I seem to recall she started off with "Forget Me Not" then later eveyone was shouting One Way Out and as mentioned above she did it accapello with the crowd joining in.
