Chalky Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 (edited) you often see them for around the £40/£50 mark on average but certain ones do fetch a bit more. The Chuck Jackson has fetched a 3 figure sum on one auction, not that I'd rate it that much, maybe a couple of over excited bidders pushing the price up. I doubt it's no rarer than any of the others as I'm pretty sure the same sort of quantities pressed of each. The flip of the Teardrops, Chubby Checker - You can't lose something you never had is the best side for me...actually Jimmy Radcliffe. Edited July 4, 2009 by chalky

Keeping the faith, right on and on and on and on and on !! Ken NICE ONE KEN!, I APOLAGISE THAT MY OLD BOY/SCHOOL POLITCS, CAYSED YOU SOME CONFUSION, FIRST THING AT TIMES I GET SO ENGROSED IN THIS SITE SINCE I FIRST COME ACCROSS IT. I ASSUME FOR SOME DAFT REASON THAT MOST PEOPLE KNOW ME?, AND LIKE ALL PEOPLE OF MY AGE MANY ASPECTS OF LIFE ARE "WHEN I WAS A LAD..." AS SUCH I USE MY PAST EXPERANCIES AND KNOWLAGE WITHOUT PUTTING THE OLD BRAIN INTO GEAR! RESULTING IN MORE OF A NONCHALLANT STATEMENT. HOWEVER MY PIONT IS IN THE EARLY DAYS OF GETTING ABOUT AT A TIME WHEN THE MAJORITY OF YOUNG PEOPLE NEVER WENT FURTHER THAN DOWN TOWN. THE CLUBS AND THE SCENE WAS SO CURRENT AS IT WAS IN THE HERE AND NOW?, AND EVEN THE RARE SOUL SCENE AS SUCH WAS PLAYING RECIRDS THAT WERE CURRENT OR JUST 2 YEARS OLD, EVEN WHEN THE DOORS OF WIGAN OPENED MOST OF THE RECORDS IF NOT ALL WITH A COUPLE OF EXCEPTION WRER FROM 65 ONWARDS, SO EVEN THEN THAT WAS ONLY 8 YEARS OLD, AS SUCH FOR THE VAST MAJORITY OF ALL NIGHTER GOERS THE SCENE WAS VIBERANT AND DIVERS IN NATURE, AND THE VENUES REPUTATION WAS BASED ON THE OLD MOD VALUES OF BEING EXCLUSIVE (THIS WAS VERY APPARENT IN THE MID 7ts WITH THE MECCA V WIGAN ISSUE) THIS EXCLUSIVEALITY TO BE LOYAL TO THE SCENE AND CLUB AND HOW THE UNWRITTEN RULES OF THE SOUL SCENE WERE ESTABLISHED WAY BACK, THE ISSUE IN THE NORTH WAS DIFFERANT FROM THE SOUTH, THATS A FACT HOWEVER THE PLACES THAT I MENTIONED AND THE EARLY NORTHER CLUBS WHICH AT THE TIME WERE AT THE TIME VERY HARD TO LOCATE, THAN MY PIONT OF GOING TO A SOHO CLUB, HAVEING LIVED IN THE NORTH IN FACT MY LAST 2 YEARS AT SCHOOL WERE IN PRESTON AND PROBERLY THE FIRST PLACE THAT I WENT TO WAS THE BOWLING ALLY ON THE CORNER OF CASTLE STREET & VERNON STREET, I CAN REMEMBER CLEARLY SOME OF THE SOUL RECORDS PLAYED THERE IN 66 MANY HAVE TURNED OUT AS STATESIDE RELEASES, ALTHOUGH I HATED LIVING IN THE NORTH AT THE TIME, MY PIONT IS I LOVED MY ORIGANAL CLUB/DICOTEQUE EXPERIANCES AND MY LOVE OF BLACK MUSIC WAS DEVELOPT AS A PART OF THE EXPEERIANCE, AS I WILL EXPLAIN THE ISSUE I RRAISED IS SIMPLY THAT THE SCENE IS MORE ABOUT THE OWNERSHIP OF CERTIAN RARE SOUNDS TO THE MAJORITY THAN THE FACT OF ENJOYING THE AMBIONSE AND EXPERIANCE OF THE VENUE, IF YOU CAN EMPATHISE WITH MY SENTAMENT ITS GOT A COMMON SENCE ASPECT TO IT, AS (a)THE OLDER ELIMENT OF ALLNIGHTER GOERSARE NOW 40 YEARS+ ( AS WE LOOK BACK 20 YEARS AGO CLEARLY THE HIGH PRICED RECORDS WERE THE ROCK & ROLL RAREITIES, AS WITH THAT SCENE IT HAS DIED A DEATH AS THE OLD TEDS DIED LEAVING THE RARE RECORDS TO BE DICOVERD BY ANOUTHER GENERATION? © i CAN CLEARLY REMEMBER THAT WHEN I FIRST VENTURED INTO A CLUB IN THE LATE 6ts & IN THE 7ts UP TO 78, WHEN LIKE A FEW OF US WE HAD ENOUGTH OF THE SCENE, i LOOKED AT RECORDS AS FROM THE VENUES THAT i FIRST HERED THEM AT OR NEW WHERE THEY WERE FIRST PLAYED eg THE TORCH MECCA WHEEL WIGAN SAMANTHAS CLEATHORPS AND SO ON? AND THAT NO DJs PLAYED BOOTLGS OR EMI DISCS WITH THE EXCEPTION OF JOHN VINCENT A GREAT GUY, (d) TODAYS SCENE REFLECTS TO ME HOW THINGS HAVE CHANGED SOME WOULD SAY IT,S NO DIFFERANT THAN THE 72 -75 WITH CLUB GOERS BUYING REPRESS COPY OF RARE VINAL? BUT THE SAME PEOPLE NOW SELL THE STUFF (eat your words chaps!) (e) THE ISSUE BEING ASKED TO GO OR INVITED TO GO IS A STATEMENT OF HOW THINGS USED TO BE. (f) THE ISSUE THAT LED TO MY REMARK WAS BASED ON ALL THINGS THAT I NOW LOATH ABOUT THE SCENE, ADY HAS BEEN A STALWART OF KEEPING THE FAITH, AND HE HAS PROVIDE THE LOYAL PUNTEERS THAT GO TO THE 100 CLUB FOR MANY YEARS NOW WITH AN EXCLUSIVE 45, AS A THANK YOU FROM HIM TO THOSE HE LOOKS ON AS LOYAL TO THE 100 CLUB, WHEN I SEE PEOPLE ASKING THE PRICE OF A 100 CLUB RAREITY? WELL MY PIONT IS VALLID THEY ARE FREE, AND THE FACT OF BEING ASKED TO GO IS A ONGOING ISSUE THAT I HAVE ABOUT WHY DO SOUL COLLECTORS NOT GET ASKED YET IF YOU OWN AND PURCHESS RECORDS FROM CERTAIN PEOPLE YOU ARE EXCELLARATE UP THE LIST ESPECIALY FOR DJs?. ONE DAY I WILL RIGHT A BOOK I THINK CALLED THE RISE AND FALL OF NORTHER SOUL FROM A STALWALT AND A COLLECTORES PIONT OF VIEW? TO CONCLUED ITS JUST A CASE OF WHAT USED TO BE THE NORTHERN SOUL QUOTE "RIGHT ON & KEEP THE FAITH" AND ON THE SENTAMENT THAT SOME DJs ONLY OWN 500 RECORDS OR LESS BUT ARE ASKED TO ATTEND, WHY SHOULD I A COLLECTER OF A FEW THOUSAND SOUL RECORDS NOT EXPECT THE SAME? KEN RIGHT ON AND DO KEEP THE FAITH AS YOU SEE IT DAVE KIL
