I know this has been done before...but, I really like this topic! Here are mine:

For a long time it was...

"You Don't Love Me"/"Where Were You" - The Epitome of Sound (Sandbag)...played this to death

Now, however...

"Sitting In My Class"/"Isn't She A Pretty Girl" - Ronnie McNeir (De-To)...my all time favorite double-sider. I play the "Isn't She a Pretty Girl" first...killer track.

The O'Jays/I Dig Your Act w/I'll Be Sweeter Tomorrow (Than I Was Today) -- an absolute belter of a double sider. I wish I could find a mint US Bell copy rather than my battered copy.

Keep 'em coming!

AM I the only one that thinks I'll Be Sweeter is so like Jimmie Bo Horne - I Just Can't Speak.

On Topic - Billie Kennedy -Sweet Things & This is a Groovy Generation

Debbie Taylor Just don't pay/I don't wanna lose you. Arista 2 absoloutly cracking sides..with Lose You being my number one track of all time (most days...LOL) one of those songs you can remember so vividly where and when you first heard it...brilliant.

Without giving it too much thought and not read all the thread

Willie Kendrick takes some beating - Change your ways/What's that on your finger

Cashmeres come close though - Showstopper/Don't let the door

Or even Willie Hutch - Love Runs Out/The Duck - USA Dunhill.

Regards - Mark Bicknell.

If we are talking sheer soulful quality, production values, melodies, lyrics especially on LRO etc, etc - and of course supreme dancability - for the perfect NORTHERN SOUL double sider,

it has to be this record. Agree totally Mark. I remember when I first heard 'love Runs Out' way back in the 70s and I really did feel like it was the best record I'd ever heard in my life! Its still right up there for me in the all-time 20, but for a dancing double, this can't be beat - in my view that is!!!

In another sense, the release with BOBBY HUTTON was definetly the best double sider by two artists released in the UK. Had one off Pete Widd and played it to absolute death.

Have to agree with Bernard Williams, a few more of mine are

Calvin Grayson Loves just begun / You got to be willing

Arin demain Silent treatment / You dont have to cry anymore This flip side is pure magic

and one Ive been playing out is Lonnie Russ Something for my love the flip of Say Girl always causes a big reaction on the floor and with collectors. This will have its day very soon as its starting to get pushed at some of the more forward thinking venues if its not in refo you can check it out on my website if youve not heard it, both sound files are there.
