Soulsmith Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Two records that you always associate with each other & a reason. (don't think this thread will appeal to Brett ) Billy Watkins Ice Man & Susan Coleman Age Of The Wolf Both pressed up around the same time & really naff lyrics. Associate both with Yate altouigh I appreciate they were played all over. or Kiki Dee Magic Carpet Ride & Helen Shapiro - Stop.... A joint holy grail - out of my price budget as a 17 year old. Now theoretically I could acquire then, but I'm some what indifferent to them - although would still like to own them! I was never confused.
Sheldonsoul Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 strange i found 3 mint copys of kiki dee in a record shop around 79/80, and my mate found a demo copy of helen shapiro the same week but my pair would be lynne randell stranger in my arms/ shane martin i need you both on cbs and both big at wigan at roughly the same time
Guest Matt Male Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Talkin Bout You Baby and Never For Me, always associated in my mind, i think Tony Clayton used to play them back to back at the Oddfellows Club.
Soulsmith Posted June 26, 2009 Author Posted June 26, 2009 strange i found 3 mint copys of kiki dee in a record shop around 79/80, and my mate found a demo copy of helen shapiro the same week Strangely enough your positive uplifting anecdote has not cheered me up at all. I bought a record in 79/80 for £15 (which I still have) & according to Record Collector in 2008 its still worth £15. Ho Hum.
soulpaul0 Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 With inflation taken into account you should have save your money and not wasted it on that silly music (bet you not heard that from girlfriends ) i buy all our records for a pound just to help you out
