Dazdakin Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 Mmm just like i thought, not enough souls to go around these days. Rugby was enjoyable but empty (80 at most) by all accounts so was keele although this is second hand info. Loughborogh mini nighter had 150 ish in but emptied around 2.30am ish. Dont know about Burnley fri eve. the point being promoters get it sorted talk to each other stop clashing or it will hasten the demise of what we have got. not just because of lack of atmosphere of venues but promoters will not be able to stand the losses they are makin at the min. Just a rant and a thought.
Guest Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 well we went to Loughborough and thank goodness we did going by the numbers at the so called "big" niters, freindly venue, good music, £5 on the door, what more could you ask for!!, you mention Rugby and keele, dont forget The Stute, Co op and Willington, all within an hours drive of each other, seems Loughborough did bloody brill to get that many folks attending, lookin on the feed back, just over 200, looking forward to the niter, no other niters on in the area, s`gonna be a good one!!

On occasions ,I've been when it has been rammed and not had as enjoyable a night as this last one though. Must have been the music and clientele hehehe--oh and that well furbished smoking area!!

I believe that the promoters do talk to each other, in fact Dave Rimmer does a big nighter planner on this forum, it's just that sometimes they have to take the dates that they are given. Don't forget as well with these bigger venues they often have the dates booked up to a couple of years in advance. I agree that it's a shame with the crowd getting split but imo i'd rather have the choice of where to go though Saturday just gone was maybe a bit over the top spoilt for choice!

And a good few aint on kissing terms for various reasons.. Loughboro, another niter??? ... The chinese will have to invent another Saturday in the calendar month to make room for all the events... Good luck to you all.. Rugby on Sat was ok at its peak with a decent crowd, it thinned out later, thats when the extra numbers count..
Rugby Soul Club Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 plus the 100 on Sians guest list all smillin' Oi cheeky, the only ones who get in for nought are the DJ's and their one guest, the people who have their birthday that nite and the door staff but I might start charging you... Tis a hard one alright, I do have dates booked til 2014 (the only way I can get the ones I want), so changing is impossible. I do have my dates avaiable for anyone who wants them and a good few of us do chat to see what can be done to avoid clashes but it's a free world and anyone who wants to give it a go shouldn't be made to feel they can't. Good luck to em I say as it ain't an easy ride but I love it (wouldn't do it if I didn't), seeing people with happy, smiley faces makes it all worth while...
Dazdakin Posted June 22, 2009 Author Posted June 22, 2009 Its just a shame thats all coz the last Rugby nighter was the tops, and even busy enough for a tea/coffee van to be parked outside ffs!! Yes the music is everything, the venue helps, even the location sometimes but what all nighters need imo is people this = atmosphere and without that you got nada. Still having said that was still a good night.
Guest gordon russell Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 music and the people there are the most important end of. A lot go only for the social, music comes a big second.....the reason some empty out early is....a lot of the soul night crowd go along til around 2.30 ish then feck off home.....As for a lot of so called promoters they.re venues are second rate with second rate dj's and very poor sets of music, but they can't just attend a good venue, better to run a crap one for their own motives and to hell with the bigger picture.

Guest Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 any one that makes you go home at 3 o'clock.....cause the music is pooo Well thought out answer as usual but sometime's you can have the best dj's in the country and still bugger off early because your feet have been danced on all night and full of none traditional soul folk getting in the way while i'm bustin' moves while avoiding the pools of beer.
