less than a year ago Tim Brown was putting these in his £100 for 100 45s soul packs.

I had three copies at one stage last year. Are they really going for this much nowadays? If so I gave mine away (less than a tenner for sure)

I know Manship has them valued at £50 but surely not?

Thats what i sold the last one for as someone pointed out on a thread todaya record is really only worth what someones prepared to pay for it, im always open to negotiation

Its always tricky listing these things what is a fair price for any of them nowadays? look at some of the prices paid on ebay for thrashed rubbish.

When im listing i look at what other people sell for obviously manship and brown s books and a gut feel. I really am not looking to change my lifestyle here most monies usually go back into buying more records, comes from like a lot of us being obsessive compulsive collectors

A common conversation I and im sure many more sellers have had over the years is "you only paid a dollar for that " how come you want xxx

without sounding like a patronising git the answer is: try flying to the states staying in a motel renting a car driving into some pretty nasty areas looking through piles and piles of old tosh then having to deal with some introvert American dealer who has a copy of manships guide etc etc. I could bore you to death with some very hairy stories over the years ...Giant rodents cockroaches getting mugged almost shot by the Detroit police

Perhaps this would make a good seperate thread see what the general opinon is of sellers............. i dont want to get accused of promoting my own sales list :thumbsup:

BTWI didnt take your post as a criticism its a fair point if someone thinks a price is too steep :yes:

good points mate.

would love to hear some of the crate digging horror stories from the US though.

I buy and sell at venues and I admit to following the guides in a fashion. Pricing is very difficult at times. I know that when I sell a record within a few minutes of putting it in my sales box I am both happy and also left wondering was it too cheap.

I think I will go and start the thread regarding buying in the depths of the US.
