Guest eedeecee Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 listen Jackie Shane -in my tenement I've been trying to figure out if this 45 is a genuine original or a boot?? the label looks dogdy ; original Sue should be reddish orange not lightly orange with funny white edges imo and I'm not sure about the soundclip either, sounds funny...can anyone advise on this one??

Didn't listen to the sound clip - the scan was good enough for me.. Two great sides - not expensive - but not an easy number to find. I'd say it's just poor reproduction quality of the scan that gives you concern over the appearence. Fingers
pikeys dog Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 Contrary to what Johnnys just said, I'd leave well alone - looks like a 100% boot for the Popcorn market to me. Will listen to the soundclip and get back to you.
pikeys dog Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 sounds slightly different, but that might be down to the recording software. Label is still suspect though.
Simon T Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 sounds slightly different, but that might be down to the recording software. Label is still suspect though. The issues that I've seen are plain orange i.e. black & white stripes bits

Mace Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 The issues that I've seen are plain orange i.e. no black & white stripes bits The plain orange issues are Canadian. The original U.S. issue is striped but doesn't have the white outer rim on the edge of the label.....gotta agree with Joe, looks iffy to me.
Prophonics 2029 Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 (edited) Stand Up Straight is a tune to be reconded with and no boots about. Unless you start to cross dress then you won't live to see the light of day. Edited June 22, 2009 by Prophonics 2029
Sean Hampsey Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Type is all over the place and a contemporary font. Proper copy looks like the one below. Buyer beware! Sean
