Windlesoul Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 I've got this on a Chris Bartley Vando LP. I know TT did this as a 45, but not aware if there is a Chris Bartley 45. Must admit haven't heard the TT one, but just curious qas to whether TT is actually CB. Anyone? Mark

I they they ARE one and the same? From memory the TT 45 and the CB LP track are the same recording? CB LP is phenomenal imho! Van McCoy magic! It's called 'Sweetest thing this side of heaven' on Vando and features a picture of CB with a female who turned out to be Sandi Sheldon!!!!! Cheers Steve
Guest TONY ROUNCE Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 This just in from the Up-Look records website, Steve: "One of the first artists to sign with Lawson's talent and promotion agency was a 12-year-old singing sensation called LITTLE TONY TALENT. While at an Otis Redding party at Atlantic Records in New York, he met record producer Juggy Murray who signed Little Tony Talent (real name William Anderson) to his Symbol label. Tony recorded two tracks with writer and producer Jesse Herring at the Cameo Parkway studios across the street from his office in the Shubert Building. Lawson arranged for Little Tony Talent to open up for Otis Redding at the Uptown Theatre and he also performed live on Jerry Blavat's national TV show, Discophonic Scene, singing 'I Feel Good' with Redding's band. He did live shows with The Delfonics and The Intruders at the Copa Kabu - a teenage nightclub which was located above a shoe store at 52nd and Sansom. Lawson would accompany young Tony to the clubs and bars and even strip joints where he performed with a band that consisted of guitar, bass and drums. Tony Talent released two singles, the first in 1966 on Juggy Murray's Symbol label and another the following year on Van McCoy's Vando label. Lawson and Redding were going to jointly manage Tony and were in the process of recording an album on him when Redding was killed in a plane crash. This tragedy hurt Lawson and also slowed things down for Talent who at the time was in 7th or 8th grade at Shumaker Junior High. Tony later formed a group called The Coalitions who recorded a few singles in the early 1970s." ...given how much else this tells you about TT, it would surely also have mentioned any connection with Chris Bartley. Didn't know he was in the Coalitions, though!
