Guest
less of the oppo mate... It was not meant in a derogatory way ...... I shall refer to you as " my mate " in the future , should I need to : if that agreeable Mr D ? I do hope so , as I want to be your mate , as all I have is collegues , associates and sympathisers ....... In respect of your reply to Kirsty - " For your information Kirtsy I used to be 6LB 4OZ'S once upon a time " - was that supposed to be 6 stone 4 oz , as 6lbs 4oz , is more akin to the fighting weight of a young salmon ....... dthedrug
I still have about 30+ posters from the east Anglia soul club that put on the all-nights at Peterborough and St Ives and other venues:- I loved going to the venues then as when they started not many people from north hearts would go to Wigan as often as myself and I did not have a car in those days and thumbing your way up north with a pair of bags on and a adidas bag box of records was hard work standing at junction 9 on a sat morning trying to get up north, so as I say in 75 and onwards these all nighters were a welcome break as well as Samantha's and Cleethorpes 2 piers best memory is getting to the places especially with Taffy and Tom and the Letchworth gang we often saw badgers on vesper's rabbits thumbing lifts while zipping up their fur jackets once we saw a weasel on a motor bike how crazy is that at 2 in the morning if you don't believe me ask Taffy DAVE KIL Link to comment Social source share

Professorturnups
I have some live tapes of the Fleet All-Nighter dating back to the early eighties. One I've got is of Chris Plant playing the likes of like Freddie Williams and Tee Fletcher. When that finishes he plays The Velvet Satins announcing "Right, let's try and get some atmosphere going!" The floor then packs - some things never change!! Mark C Link to comment Social source share
