Guest in town Mikey Posted June 17, 2005 Posted June 17, 2005 (edited) If a track is issued, and then re-released, we would mostly be clamering for the first issue. But, what if the re-issue had a different b-side?? If you wanted to play the b-side out, wouldnt that be the original?? And if so, would the original police, jump on you if you wanted to play the re-released side?? Hmm Edited June 17, 2005 by in town Mikey
Guest cC B Posted June 17, 2005 Posted June 17, 2005 But, what if the re-issue had a different b-side?? Like the re-issue of modern classic Melvin Moore "All of a sudden". It has a nice unissued b-side. Gotta have 'em both, right? Cheers, Christian B
Simsy Posted June 17, 2005 Posted June 17, 2005 If the re-issue had a different b-side and that had been issued before then that would be a bit naughty to play. However if the re-issue b-side had never been issued then that surely should be okay.

Markw Posted June 17, 2005 Posted June 17, 2005 Classic example of this would be the Porgy & the Monarchs 2nd issue on the brown Musicor label with "Think Twice Before You Walk Away" on the b-side (though the song is not actually "Think Twice..." but something about "It's A Dream I've Always Had"). I stand to be corrected by better people than me, but I think this is the only release of that track? As such, I guess that qualifies as an orig and is a tune of outstanding danceability to my humble ears and one I was delighted to hear on odd occasions at the Dome, spun, I think, by Carl Fortnum...................
davidwapples Posted June 17, 2005 Posted June 17, 2005 unreleased track is called hey girl and is on the beige musicor label , got one in my salesbox if anyone is interested pm me

Dave Abbott Posted June 17, 2005 Posted June 17, 2005 and in the time it took me to type that david replied sorry

I have one (on yelllow) but not the best. its a remix but doesnt stray away from the original too much. Just a bit more housey. The reissue 7" has the ron trent mix if im correct and is quite poor compared to the original there is also a hot 'n' horny mix that was done a couple of years later whitch is quite good see if i can get a sound file up Edited June 17, 2005 by Baz
