My heads starting to get swamped with info that I would rather put into a program so I can retrieve at any time. Came across this program which although more geared to LPs could be used for 45s plus enables to add a label scan. Search Ebay 180360437472 which also leads to https://www.nofrillsdbs.com/html/musiccollector.html I want to use such a program for info on "wants" as opposed to records I already have. Does anyone use or know of anything similar and if so is it any good. I am in no way associated with the above seller or program. Thanks.

For the time it would take for me to try and learn all the gobbledegook to build it I'd rather pay a tenner.

I would imagine it would be simple enough to do this in any spreadsheet? Create enough fields for everything you need and fill in as required.

On the subject of info, I just gave in after years of ignoring it, and bought john Manships price / boot guide, no 5.... it's brill but straight a way I noticed he missed allot of national releases such as Belaires on palmer / UA, and quite a few boots that I'm aware of also missing, saying that some originate from Jamacia so its hard to tell what is and is not legit.. suppose I should email in .. m

KTF Baz bazabod, I think you may have misunderstood what I mean about database. What I meant was a database of info and not soundfiles etc. Something where I can punch in for example Spencer Wiggins and all of his 45's that I have entered will come up. Select a title and the info I have entered in the past is at hand ie local label, national label, other labels, flip side, record number, whether or not I have a soundfile and/or label scan, scarcity, approx value I'd have to expect to pay, been booted, any notes I make etc etc. Often see 45s listed with one side only so would be good to instantly find out if the track I want is on the flip of the one being offered instead of hinting around the net for the answer. I know one can hold a lot of info in one's head but it'd be nice to have it all there at the click of a mouse. I know there are collector's databases for cataloging books, LP's, stamps, etc. Just be nice if there was a simple program for 45's for which I could enter info for all my "wants".

There is a simple template available for MS Access called 'Music Collection Database' available for free download from the MS Office templates site, which you could then add to as necessary. If you haven't got excel or access you can use OpenOffice equivalents for free. Looked into the custom applications and there seems to be a few good options if you're not that computer savvy. They are: Audiophiler Music Organizer (Author: audiophiler.com) [30-day Trial] $29.95 CATraxx (Author: fnprg.com) [30-day Trial] $39.95 Music Label 2009 15.1 (Author: codeaero.com) [14-day Trial] $49.95 - $69.95 All come with a trial so you can check which works best for you.
