Anyone would think he'd actually deejayed @ Wigan Casino the bloody opportunist! Ian D Can't see anything new with Northern CD's being sold in supermarkets, been going on for ages. Looking at the track listing for this one, at least the quality is better. The budget Levine ones are in my local Sainsburys and do nothing but damage the repitation and true quality of the music. ImberBoy
Imagine if Northernsoul did go main stream and enter into fashion, who or what would sell out? Its all very well saying that you wouldn¢Å¾¢t play that and you wouldn¢Å¾¢t play this but what would happen if the venue was chocker block full of young kids demanding you play Footsee? I for one think it would be fantastic if there was a Northernsoul revival similar to the Mod revival in the 8T¢Å¾¢s. Wouldn¢Å¾¢t it be a joy to see some where like Stoke full to the rafters with teenagers clapping along to Casino Classics. Link to comment Social source share

Quite why anyone suggests that Stoke is some kind of cheesey oldies venue is beyond me. The facts; 1. Three of our DJ's-Butch, Soul Sam and Mick H could pretty much blow away most DJ's in the 'non oldies' department. 2. Our Oldies policy is second to none...hence we are FULL! Check Stoke out on October 3rd and see the UK's leading All Nighter.....since 1996. Link to comment Social source share

So why get butch to play an oldies set? I asked him for the mellowtones tune at the last nighter, he said he only had 50 records with him. is this because hye's asked to keep it mainstream? Geeselad
Over the last couple of months I've seen loads of really young Mods and skins in Manchester, dont know if this is going on in other cities, but many of the plastic mods from the 8ts are now respected menbers of the scene methinks, Hopefully these kids will eventually make on to the scene once they realise what its all about.
