wolfie66 Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Missed this on ebay, gutted 'cos it went for only £7.99 - someone got a bargain & it wasn't me . Funky instrumental, sounds like a Latin Jnr Walker, but has anyone any info: on him & his band? Other releases/labels/albums etc? TIA

This isn't the update (as far as I know) just a part-time thing until it's up and running. Had a look at my messages and it's empty - you could try and message mike, but careful, I expect he's a bit busy

Guest Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Benny Poole used to get spins in the 1980s on the mod scene - I got a copy of John Evans from North Wales back in the 80s - Agree with you, It is a great Funk 45. Dont know anything about him tho. B side to the lancers is a track called Bassology - its another instrumental - not outstanding. Moss
Weingarden Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 Funny you think it sounds like Junior Walker....Walker's from Battle Creek and Poole's from Jackson...both are small Michigan cities that lie on I-94 between Chicago and Detroit. Poole is a sax player who had a couple singles on Cascade Sound as well: "Hi Heel Sneakers" and "I Can Dig It"/"That's All Right."
