Guest Lobster Madras Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 My favourite record; I've owned for 25 years, wondered if any body has any more info on the group, the history of the 3 releases with the backing track, which came first etc..

bri pinch Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Probably Bobby James as he wrote it RAREST AND BEST FOR ME, THE BRAND NEW FACES IS A TRULY RARE AND AWFUL DISC . BRI PINCH. BENTINCK, BACK ROOM, 19TH JUNE.
Pomonkey Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 I love all 3 versions, laugh at the lame carping over which one to "choose", but highlight was recently first hearing Jimmy Burns sing it live in Chicago, talk to him about the other versions which surprisingly he didn't really know of, and then play the BNF's for the dancefloor there all on the same night, hard to beat.
bri pinch Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 not a patch on jimmy burns YOURE RIGHT, BRAND NEW FACES ISNT A PATCH ON JIMMY BURNS. PREFER BOBBY JAMES MISSEN THO' BRI PINCH. BENTINCK, BACK ROOM ,19TH JUNE.

Just love that groove.. The backing track is perfection, the 3 different releases to me all equally fantastic.. Edited June 11, 2009 by Lobster Madras

BNF is just the b-side of the record. Bizarre release though? Certainly not as good as Jimmy Burns, but still a good track. Not too sure about the Bobby James version though being as good as JB? Martyn

Martyn The reason i love BNF is it sounds like 3 girls who got their chance to have a go at making a record giving it their best.. its raw, amateur and real.. Not polished, accomplished or anything, just pure 60s era attitude.. Edited June 11, 2009 by Lobster Madras
