Guest stu kent Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 I remember that night i had just turned 16 and travelled from Leicester on my own on the train ! 79-81 was my time at the casino the years a lot of people say were the worst but for me it was magical ! I think it doesn't matter what year you first went the effect and the way the place hit you when you first walked through the doors was the same for everybody ! Any way as far as i can remember i don't think there was even 100 people there that night !

doublecookin Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 i think i might have got everyone mixed up here...l'm not on about 'Mid-Week' sessions here l'm talking about Mid-Month all-nighters at The Casino, where only about 100 turned up..Anyone out there remember them/it?? I definately remember having to go down a alley to get to the back of mr m`s, If i remember me and a mate must have got our days mixed up, think it was a fri nite, turned up to the front of the casino and it was all shut up, a local told us about the alley which led to the front entrance of mr m`s. As you say, probably only 100 or so in, but a crackin night none the less. was also defo an allnighter.
Freebie Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 Myself and some friends travelled up one Friday night because we had heard of a mid month oldies all-nighter. Arrived just after midnight, walked up to the Casino, no one about, no noise, nothing. Went back to the station and spent the night there waiting for the first train back home at 6.00am. We were joined at the station by another group, I think they were from Gloucester way, who had done the same. It seems from this topic that we heard correctly about the night but we obviously didn't hear about the back entrance and it being held in Mr. M's.
