NEV Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Hi all My son just played this to me and he reckons it sounds like something he's heard via my music (as he calls it) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EfhBBdYjqFA Just not jumping out at me
Liljimmycrank Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Hi all My son just played this to me and he reckons it sounds like something he's heard via my music (as he calls it) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EfhBBdYjqFA Just not jumping out at me Heard worse from current day artists, but doesnt really do it for me. Backing track is ok, but vocal is plain and sounds very forced.
Guest Matt Male Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Heard worse from current day artists, but doesnt really do it for me. Backing track is ok, but vocal is plain and sounds very forced. Sounds more like that white British 'soul' stuff from the 80s like Hue and Cry.

ZapatootheTiger Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Whatever it is (if sampled at all), I enjoyed it and its retro feel... B)
NEV Posted June 11, 2009 Author Posted June 11, 2009 doesn't sound like a sample at all, it sounds like it was played on a keyboard Hi Bob My 22 yr old son loves newer R&B soul music and buys a lot of albums ,he had this on his IPOD . He seemed to think it sounded like something i've played ,i myself havent got a clue ,hence posting it up for someone to hopefully prove him right or wrong Actully don't mind it but not gonna be buying it or playing it anywhere
Rick Scott Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Music is a cross between "Paint it black" The Rolling Stones" and Larry Williams and Johnny Watson "Too Late" not bad, quite like it in a quaint sort of way
Godzilla Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 He seemed to think it sounded like something i've played ,i myself havent got a clue ,hence posting it up for someone to hopefully prove him right or wrong Probably Four Vandals, Nev
Soul-slider Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 I quite like it. Daniel Merriweather has worked with Mark Ronson, so no surprise really. Does sound like a Northern mid-tempo backing track has been sampled/copied.
Guest Fatius Bumius Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 At the beginning I expect it to go into something like Ain't No Mountain High Enough, then I hear a bit of Marvin Gaye - Love Starved Heart and a bit of Precisions - Such Misery, chuck a bit of Amy Winehouse - Tears Dry On Their Own in for good measure......maybe ?? and while I'm at it a bit of Nicole Willis - If This Ain't Love Play all those to your lad and see if it's any of them
