Guest soulalone Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Does anybody know if Rufus Lumley is still around ? The man had a great voice & I always thought his lp on RCA was pretty good from a pop perspective, never mind the wonderful "Stronger than me". Cheers. Pete.

Thanks Mr Smith, one of those little things I've often wondered about. I'd like to think his widow was pleased that he had some fans across the water. Cheers. Pete

Guest SoulRenaissance Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Hi Martin have only heard it out once and wasnt really concentrating at the time would like to hear it again Yeah, a second or third hearing is always essential to form an opinion.
Pete S Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 I still can't believe they didn't see fit to issue "Stronger than me" as a single. I prefer that to I'm Standing I think.
Guest Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 come on Adam post it up i know you just bought one Haven't got it in my possesion yet Ted, it's entering the postal system tomorrow....so won't have it until Thursday. Thought I had it on CD but can't find the CD! Martin, I know it's all about opinions but it's a stunning record....far, far better than 'average' which is of course just my opinion .
Jim Elliott Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Stronger than me............................................still does it for me. Tremendous . Jim
Guest in town Mikey Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 I still can't believe they didn't see fit to issue "Stronger than me" as a single. I prefer that to I'm Standing I think. Amen to that

Perhaps i might have a rethink if i have it to hand, rather than just hearing it out? But so far after a no of listens, it just hasn't done it for me. So judegement reserved, until otherwise. Martyn
Dave Thorley Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 What about the chair I think the chair is the 'Parachute Chair' a bit of a design classic.
Dave Thorley Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Dave, just how would you happen to know something like that!Anyway l'm convinced! I used to work for a company called Steelcase Inc, we owned the French manufacture of the chair. A different time, a different life.
